The undercard fights in Bellator 275 are a great chance to see upcoming fighters or ones that are looking to make a statement in their respective divisions. In addition, it usually creates a unique betting opportunity that you do not get to see on the main card.

One of those battles is a bantamweight showdown between Brett Johns and Khurshed Kakhorov. Both have respected resumes and will put their abilities to the test.

Brett Johns (17-3-0): Needing to Get Back to the Winning Side

Johns returns to action after a unanimous decision loss to Danny Sabatello back in May of last year. This snapped his previous two-fight winning streak dating back to early 2020.

His fighting resume shows that he has two wins by knockout, six by submission, and nine by decision. He usually does a good job at controlling the pace on the ground and finding a submission opportunity along the way.

“The Pikey” is competing in his second Bellator event and will try to score his first victory. Previously, he competed with the UFC and faced consistent quality fighters along the way.

Johns faced another quality fighter, which will help boost his rank among other bantamweights. Controlling the ground is going to be key, which he should be able to do.

Khurshed Kakhorov (8-0-0): Will he Defend his Undefeated Streak?

Kakhorov enters with a perfect 8-0 record on the line against a top-quality fighter. His most recent performance was a unanimous decision against Jair Junior back in October of last year.

His fighting resume shows that he has six wins by knockout and two by decision. If the fight stays standing, he has a good shot to win with his aggressive striking and footwork.

“Killer” has competed in one Bellator event so far, which was his last successful event. This was arguably one of his toughest challenges so far in his career, especially since he has never fought anyone that had over eight victories on their resume.

Some of his battles have been against cakewalk opponents that either were new to professional fighting or barely had enough wins. Still, he has shown good results, and now he has a chance to put those skills to work.

If this were boxing or stand-up only, this would be a different conversation. Both fighters do strike well, but one has a clear advantage.

Johns could entertain a striking war, but he is much more disciplined on the ground. He might not get the early submission if Kakhorov happens to defend well, but he could definitely take it the distance.
