WBC Prez: We Gave Tyson Fury Until August 26 To Check Retirement in Writing

Earlier this week, WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury once yet again offered his retirement – merely days after announcing that he wanted to battle yet again, in a trilogy battle with Derek Chisora.

The World Boxing Council is not any speeding to get to the bottom of the positioning of their heavyweight title. Alternatively, the sanctioning body has located a point in time for Fury to officially check his answer.

We had a conversation in conjunction with his promoter, and we gave him 10 days, until the twenty 6th [of August], so they may be able to send us a written confirmation of his final answer,” WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman urged Izquierdazo. “With that, we will proceed to care for the positioning with the belt.”

Sulaiman did not want to check if the title would change into vacant at the end of the month. He prefers to stay up for the point in time.
